Sex Pistols would you let these in your country? - 'Dennis Morris' (Dont Care collection)
The Sex Pistols were about to leave for the United States, their effort to conquer the largest record market in the world. A tour of both northern and southern cities had been booked. However the Barbarian conquest was halted. Immediately prior to departure, the group learned that their applications for US visas had once again been turned down, the assorted members' various petty criminal convictions being cited against them, with John Rotten's speed bust earlier in the year weighing especially against them. Following direct interventions from the chief attorney for Warner Brothers, to whom the group had signed in the USA,. Connections in high places pays off and after heavily being scrutinized they receive the necessary papers two days later. Having been forced to cancel the tour's early dates, the shows would now begin in the deep south of Atlanta, Georgia, and continue further south, concluding in San Francisco.
