Pogo Punk from Belgium - (?)PLASTIC BERTRAND
is a new camp act that's surfaced through the import record bins in the UK and America. He's Plastic Bertrand and is the comic Belgian/French answer to punk rock. His real name is Roger Jouret and he had previously been in a punk trio called Bubble Bubble, who had recorded an entire album of odd songs. There were unusual covers of Scott McKenzie's "San Francisco" and the Kinks' song "I'm Not Like Everybody Else." The "Plastic Bertrand" persona was created as a comedy act called "Two Man Sound" with Roger teaming up with producer Lou Deprijck. His solo debut single is out this week on the continental Vogue Records label. The tracks are "Pogo Pogo" and "Ca Plan Pour Moi." and features the pogoing Belgium securing the years novelty punk hit!
