Skids - Pic courtesy of Into The Valley siteTHE SKIDS are one of the latest punk bands to emerge from Scotland, inspired by the punk movement that's swarming down in London. The root of the new band rose out of a Bowie cover band called Tattoo. It's two principle members, Stuart Adamson and Willie Simpson have gotten together with Alistair Moore and Richard Jobson, to form a new group called the Skids. They found their drummer Thomas Kellichan using a newspaper advert. They're all from the mining towns surrounding Dunfermline. The Skids are rehearsing and rehearsing, hoping to get that break that'll take them South to be discovered.

Shane McGowan ready to demolish something - (Dont Care collection) PUNK ROCK MOVIE
Roxy Club DJ Don Letts has been capturing the London punk scene of film since the beginning of this year. He's shooting it all on lof fi grainy 8mm sound film reflecting the bands who he's capturing. Despite rough ghostly footage some of the most important moments of this scene are on film like the Sex Pistols gig at the Screen on the Green earlier this year, the Clash 'White Riot Tour', Shane McGowan(future Nipple Erector) trashing the Jams' drum kit down the Roxy, plus backstage candid shots of Generation X, The Slits, Wayne County, Siouxsie & The Banshees and some live footage of fans that captures the feeling of 1977 perfectly..However none of this will be seen on the big screen till later next year as edited cuts will be presented as The Punk Rock Movie which was to be first of many punk movies capturing various scenes over the next 5 years.
