The infamous NME Christmas party is underway at Dingwalls tonight. It's a star studded punk event with entertainment provided by Dave Edmunds and later by the Flaming Groovies. The event is attended by members of The Clash, Generation X, Snatch, The Lous, Ramones, Heartbreakers, Thin Lizzy, Motorhead, Fabulous Poodles, Squeeze, The Kursaals, The Damned, Adverts, Tom Robinson, Steel Pulse and many others. As a gift to the partygoers this evening, Stiff Records and NME pressed up a limited edition single by lan Dury. The instant collectors item had "Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll" on the "A" side, on the flip were two unreleased live Kilburn & The High Roads tracks, "Two Steep Hills" and "England's Glory." Punk is featured heavily in todays Christmas double issue of the mag with The Clash's final on the road installment, Devo, Stranglers Jean Jaques Burnel full colour centrespread and more.
