THE RICH KIDS get a new guitarist and vocalist. Midge Ure has joined Glen Matlock's Rich Kids. He was a chart topper with his teen-pop band Slik, but has since turned to other tastes. He had played a few dates with the Rich Kids but rejected the idea of joining the band because of a reluctance to relocate to London. That reluctance is gone now with record compony interest and an imminent signing which occured today. The Rich Kids have just been signed to a recording deal with EMI Records. This is the same company that had lead singer Glen Matlock under contract last year as a member of the Sex Pistols. The group have already cut some demos and now prepare for their first single. The line-up is now made up of Glen Matlock on vocals and bass, ex-Slik vocalist and guitarist Midge Ure, Steve new on guitar and Rusty Egan on drums.
